The cabinet on Wednesday
approved Citizenship (Amendment) Bill. A key cabinet met took place which was
chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The Citizenship (Amendment) Bill will
provide Indian nationality to six communities-— Hindus, Christians, Sikhs,
Parsis, Jains and Buddhists fleeing persecution from Pakistan, Afghanistan and
Bangladesh. The Parliament is all set to witness a chaos over the bill. The
opposition parties, minority outfits already attacked the bill for leaving out
Muslims. Defence minister Rajnath Singh has clearly stated that the legislation
is the top priority of the government.
