TMC workers captured four
offices of the BJP in Kankinara, Naihati, Madral and Barrackpore after a
victory in the by-polls, the results of which were declared on Thursday. In
a clean sweep, the TMC showed signs of a comeback after it bagged all the three
seats, leaving the BJP at the second position in all. While it took away
Kaliaganj and Kharagpur Sadar seats from Congress and BJP, the party retained
its Karimpur seat with a massive mandate.
