Month of December and January receives highest snowfall in Kufri. The town is generally snow cladded till March end or sometimes even in early April. In peak winters it can get below freezing. Heavy rains and continuous snowfall in Kufri hill station of Shimla has thrown daily life out of gear. During the past 24 hours, the temperature in the region has dropped drastically. Local residents in Kufri are facing troubles due to harsh weather conditions. Vehicles have been stranded in several snow-clad parts in the state with ice-covered roads resulting in skidding of vehicles. Himachal Pradesh meteorological department forecast predicted a further decline in night temperature.
