The director of Mardaani 2 Gopi Puthran has said that his upcoming film is mainly aiming
to reveal the mirror of society with the
disclosure of several crimes that have
been committed against women by the juveniles. The film is based on the true story of 2013 Shakti
Mills rape case. Filmmaker Puthran has said that “This is our way of showing everyone
what is really happening around us and trying to tell everyone to keep their
eyes open because the threat is around us.” Rani Mukherjee has played the
police officer role in 2014’s Mardaani and now she has also returned as police
officer Shivani Shivaji Rao. The film is slated to be released on December 13.
