Kolkata metro fares will be increased by Rs. 5 and it will be
effective from 5 December, 2019. According to the sources of Kolkata metro,
they will amend its fares for the first time in six months. In recent times
large numbers of accidents are taking place in metro railway, hence, the decision with regards to hike
fares has been taken as well as permitted on account of building the current
system more efficient, well organized as well as risk management. The minimum and maximum fares will remain unchanged;
however, respective slabs will be modified for the first time in six years.
