The district collector of Maharashtra has
postponed over 10,000 Ganesh idols at Latur in the regions of Marathwada. The
decision has been taken mainly due to shortage of water in the town and many
other places in Maharashtra. The municipal corporation has formed certain
provisions for the reservation of idols at the temple. According to IAS
official, big mandals have been told to reuse and recycle the idols for the
purpose of avoiding of shortage of water in the town.
